Pizzonia (Zele Racing), Von Grünigen (Paolo Coloni Racing) join 2015 Auto GP ranks

A former Formula 1 star will be headlining the roster for the 2015 Auto GP Season starting on the 2nd and 3rd of May at the Hungaroring. Manaus-born Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia will be back in the series thanks to a deal with Austrian squad Zele Racing. The 34-year-old ace had already raced with the same squad last year, and led the pack in the 2015 preseason test held at Vallelunga. Pizzonia won the 2000 British F.3 Championship before moving to F1 with Jaguar and BMW-Williams. He will form an all-South American duo with Colombian Andres Mendez. As Zele Racing has prepared three cars, another addition to the team's line-up will be announced soon. Joining the Auto GP pack will also be Swissman Christof Von Grünigen, driving for P.C.R., Paolo Coloni Racing. The 23-year old racer has been lining-up in F.Renault NEC, Alps and Eurocup before making his way to Auto GP last year with Zele Racing, and will be rejoining the series' ranks this season. Both him and Pizzonia will be among the stars of round 1 at Budapest, as the championship promoted by Enzo Coloni will share the Hungarian venue with the WTCC.

Michael Zele, leading the Zele Racing stable, said: "We are happy to continue the work we started last year with Pizzonia. Compared to the final round of 2014 at Estoril, we will have more time to prepare well and we will also use the simulator".

Paolo Coloni Racing team manager Paolo Coloni welcomed Von Grünigen: "I am delighted to welcome Christof, a really quick driver who showcased his skills during the last Auto GP season. I expect some great results from him for the P.C.R. colours this season".
